After seeing several physios that all said I was fine and sent me home with stretches (which help to an extent) I decided to try something different.

Went to see Derek nearly 6 weeks ago for myofascial release as I have been suffering from lower back pain on and off, for some time now. Within seconds into the consultation Derek could see alignment issues with my body straight away and worked in these. Some of the treatment was a tad weird, but I could feel the difference afterwards. The massage was nice and relaxing too.

Whilst I have had some flare ups since, I must be realistic that you won’t fix years of pain in one session and the flare ups haven’t lasted nearly as long.

I’ll be booking a follow up appointment in the near future.

Had a wonderful relaxing 90 minute Swedish massage.

Staff friendly and welcoming. Massage room was cosy with a large heated massage table with plenty of room.

It has not only refreshed me physically but mentally too. Feels like I have had a total reset and feel like a new person.

It was well worth the time and money spent. Highly recommended.

Vari gave me the most incredible pregnancy-friendly massage (I was at 35 weeks). Everything was set up so I was incredibly comfortable on my side (turning iver halfway) and she made sure to relax every part of me which was feeling the general aches and pains of pregnancy. Need to book again ASAP!

I had a massage with Derek recently. I’d been before and had a very positive experience, so this visit was disappointing in comparison.

I had booked a sports massage to relax and address physical tension, but the session involved a lot of personal questions about my family business and unsolicited advice about how I should run it. This made it difficult to relax and at times felt awkward and intrusive, which wasn’t what I was looking for from the treatment. I left not feeling relaxed and disappointed with the overall experience.

That said, Derek reached out personally afterward, apologised sincerely, and handled the situation very professionally, including arranging a full refund without hesitation. I respect the way he took the feedback seriously and his willingness to take responsibility. Based on my previous positive visit and how this was handled, I believe this was likely not reflective of his usual standard.

I was gifted a deep tissue massage here at Clarity with Prasanna. He started out by asking where my tension areas were and if I did sports ect. He used various pressure and techniques and quickly identified that I do not stretch after working out and advised to do so as there were many knots in my calf’s and legs. Deep tissue massage doesn’t cover it, Prasanna was tremendous at finding the problem are and wasn’t shy in trying to work them out. Superb experience. Thank you

As a busy mum being able to find time for yourself, Prasana delivered a wonderful aromatherapy massage which enabled me to fully switch off and recharge. The massage with Derek was not just a massage, but also an interesting conversation in which he asked me lots of inspiring questions about various things. During a kind of “pre-assessment,” it also became clear that I have a slight pelvic tilt, which I had already noticed myself due to my slightly asymmetrical posture. Derek knew how to correct it immediately with the help of a specific technique. Fantastic! The massage itself was then also wonderful: very relaxing and varied, with just the right amount of firmness and strength, all in a calm but communicative atmosphere! I'd gladly go back anytime!

First massage in a while at clarity and loved the new location… however, the highlight was my full body massage!! It definitely was one of the best massages I’ve ever had with the lovely Prasanna!! I enjoy a regular massage and have had a fair few over the years but the technique and service provided was second to none. I enjoyed the variety of movements, the differing pressures and lovely head and scalp massage to begin. I will definitely be back and would recommend anyone to book in with Prasanna and the talents he brings from Sri Lanka ☺️

This was my first visit to the salon and I choose it because it had such good reviews on Google. From my initial contact after I had, rather belatedly, decided to have a few treatments, I was impressed. All of my emails were responded to promptly and the team managed to juggle things around to accommodate all my requests. The salon is in a lovely old house, which has been tastefully converted in a beauty salon. It is a lovely peaceful haven where you can relax and enjoy a great range of treatments. My appointment was spread over 6 hours and during that time Ashley, Eve and Laura provide the highest standard of beauty care. They were so diligent and thorough and clearly cared about their clients and the beauty services that they were providing. They were all lovely people and very easy to chat to during the treatments. I can honestly say that I have never had such an excellent experience in any beauty salon before my visit today. I will definitely be returning to Clarity House Health and Beauty Salon. Thank you.

I received a gift voucher for Christmas and contacted the business to ask whether there was any evening or weekend availability for the treatment of my choice, as all online appointments were during weekday mornings/early afternoons when I work. Unfortunately, the responses I received were quite dismissive and didn’t really address my situation, despite me explaining it clearly.

I was simply told that all available appointments are shown online and that “hopefully” I could book one before the voucher expired, even though I had already explained that those times were not possible for me. After reiterating this, I received no further response.

While the treatments themselves may be great, the customer service and flexibility for working clients, especially those using time-limited gift vouchers, was disappointing for a first-time experience.

I originally booked a full-body massage after receiving a voucher for half of the value of a previous treatment that had to be cancelled due to me going into labour.

On 2 July 2025, I was booked in for two pregnancy treatments: a full-body massage and a facial. That morning, my waters broke and I had to make my way to the hospital. While travelling in, I emailed Clarity House to inform them of the situation. Their response was simply, “Thanks for letting us know,” with no acknowledgement such as “congratulations” or “good luck.” I understand that the policy states that cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable, but given that these appointments were specifically for someone who was pregnant, I had expected a degree of leniency.

After reflecting on the poor customer service we received, my husband contacted Clarity House the following month to ask whether anything could be done—either a refund or a voucher for a future treatment. The total cost of the original appointments was £120, and a voucher worth £65 was issued. We were satisfied to at least receive something.

Using this voucher, I booked a 90-minute full-body massage for myself. I was genuinely looking forward to it, as I am now almost five months postpartum and was very much in need of some relaxing time to myself.

Derek (co-owner) was my therapist. While he was pleasant, I was talked at throughout the entire appointment. I felt unable to stop the conversation or express that I had hoped for a quiet, relaxing experience rather than ongoing chit-chat. Derek even acknowledged this, saying, “I hope you didn’t think you were coming in here for a relaxing massage.” I laughed awkwardly, as that was exactly what I had hoped for.

The massage itself was disappointing. Although it was supposed to be a full-body treatment, several areas received no attention—most notably my feet and head, which were the parts I had been most looking forward to having treated.

Additionally, the appointment was meant to last 90 minutes. The first 10 minutes were spent filling out a form that I could easily have completed beforehand, especially as I arrived 10 minutes early—something Derek acknowledged by commenting, “You are nice and early.” Despite this, the form was completed during the scheduled appointment time, reducing the duration of the treatment. Furthermore, when I checked the time upon leaving Clarity House, it was 15:27. My appointment had been scheduled for 14:00 for 90 minutes, which suggests that the massage was cut short.

Overall, the experience was not pleasant. I had so desperately hoped to relax and enjoy some much-needed time to myself, but unfortunately, I feel that this was taken away from me.

I visited for the November special full body massage. My appointment was with Prasana and I was extremely happy with the service. He was very attentive and welcoming and checked in with me regularly to see if I was comfortable with the pressure. My massage was excellent and tailored to exactly how I wanted it to be. Just had a massage here with Cherelle, and omg it was the best I've had in a long time 🤩. Amazing technique, great symmetry too. Cherelle spent the perfect amount of time on each part of my neck, back and shoulders - and also spent concentrated time on my neck (which always seems to get the least attention with some masseuses). Will definitely be back 🥰!

I have been suffering with lower back, hip and leg pain for over 3 months after being in a car crash. This afternoon I had a truly healing assessment and treatment from Derek. This was the first myofascial release massage I have had. Brian put me completely at ease, talking through the health questionnaire and making sure he understood what my problem areas were and what I wanted from the session.
Sitting at a desk all day, I had noticed that my neck and shoulders especially were tight and tense, and Brian spent some time unknotting and lengthening the muscles.
What a difference! My shoulders are down, my neck feels longer, turning my head is easier. It's not perfect, but it's a huge improvement. I will continue to do the movements Brian suggested and will definitely be back.

I visited Clarity House for the first time today and my Therapist was Derek.
Straight from the moment I opened the door I felt a sense of calm. Derek came and showed me around before showing me to the treatment room. We sat and I explained the problems I was having and that it has been going on for two years now. Derek was extremely knowledgeable on the body and how it works or how it should work. I was given a posture examination and work was conducted before I even got on the bed. Derek worked on my issue to get them fixed before finishing off with a massage.
I can honestly say I was very impressed and will definitely be booking for other treatment. Highly recommend

This is a hidden gem in Dunfermline. Slit has such a calm atmosphere from walking in the door to settling into the treatment room. Really enjoy going for massages at Clarity. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing making you feel comfortable and calm throughout the experience and you feel amazing afterwards. I have also went for multiple sports massages, which help my body recover from any tightness and muscular pains/aches I pick up from my running, football etc. Derek is also extremely knowledgable and explains where the pains are coming from and what you can do to maintain a good posture and eliminate any pains in future.

This was my first pregnancy massage. So I'm in my second trimester. It was not recommended in the first trimester. I had a voucher from Xmas and booked a massage. Then I found out I was pregnant. They honoured the voucher and it was lovely. So relaxing and calm. Not a bad way to spend time to wind down. I'll definitely go back as it was a really nice experience. The pregnancy pillow was a nice thing to try. The masseuse was amazing. I was given loads of time to get ready and it was so nice. She was really nice and friendly. I parked across the road no problems but there is a car park place too. This was next to the Alahamra. Can't believe I never noticed it before. Definitely going back.

I had a relaxing aromatherapy massage at Clarity House. The treatment was lovely and my therapist (sorry im terrible with names) was kind and accommodating. The thing that made me most comfortable though was the furniture which sounds strange but its true. As a plus size person i often feel uncomfortable in spaces like this because the furniture is too small for me, chairs are small and massage beds are narrow and never look very strong. This leads to feeling like bodies like mine are unwelcome in the beauty and wellness space. This was not the experience at Clarity House. Every chair was comfortable and roomy, and the treatment bed was wide enough to lie on comfortably so i could actually enjoy my massage in its entirety. It seems like a silly small detail to focus on but as a size 20-22 this has been an issue for me in the past and i know its a concern for other people in larger bodies. It made such a difference to the mental relaxation and i felt like Clarity House was a safe space for me to unwind in.

Had the Environ Facial-Radiance Reveal with Eve who was very professional and explained everything in detail which made me feel really at ease. Wow! what an experience - from start to finish this was so relaxing. I wasn't expecting the lovely massage at the end but I left the clinic feeling marvellous. My skin felt lovely and as this treatment is recommended for hyperpigmentation, I can honestly say my skin looked as though it had an effect on one particular spot almost like it had broken up the darker cells underneath. Myself and my partner booked a session called learn to massage for two.

We didn't know what to expect, we decided to go for it and see if we could learn how to give a half decent massage for those times when the body is aching.

On entering we were immediately greeted and shown around. We were put at ease as this was my first massage experience.

It was a very informative session and taught us alot. It is great for learning how to do it properly, with some easy techniques.

It is good that you get shown how to do it then get to try as you get good feedback on what to do.

It is also good as you get a massage from both a professional and your partner so you get the opertunity to provide that valuable feedback to your partner. Whether that be too much pressure or too little.

I would certainly recommend it if you want to have a chance at giving a half decent massage.

I attended Clarity on the recommendation of a friend and I have to say, I wasn't disappointed. Before my massage began my therapist took time to listen to exactly what I was hoping to achieve from my massage, and during the treatment it was clear she knew what I was looking for better than I did! The atmosphere was lovely, the temperature was spot on and the pressure was just right. I floated home afterwards and will be booking another massage very soon!

Derek our therapist gave us a brilliant session on couples massage. He quickly identified areas we both needed work on, demonstrated and explained the techniques so they were easy to understand and we both left the session really pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Had a fantastic aromatherapy massage a few months ago, would highly recommend - the massage was extremely relaxing and very beneficial. Also recently tried the hot lava shells massage and this was a fantastic treatment too. I had an express facial this week and my skin felt great afterwards - it was glowing. The oils used smelled amazing and these in combination with the facial massage were so relaxing that I think I actually fell asleep for part of the treatment! The person I went to regularly for a massage for years recently retired but I am pleased to have found Clarity House - the treatment rooms are spotless and the staff are welcoming and professional.

It was warm and relaxing massage and i felt lot better and more relaxed after it.

I visited Clarity House for an initial podiatry appointment with Paul. One word describes my experience, professional and confidence-inspiring. Okay, three words, nobody expected the Spanish Inquisition! Paul was very informative and thorough, taking time to explain what he was doing and why. Time, of course, will tell but I am hopeful of a satisfactory outcome. Edit; Happy to report that my foot problem has improved by 99%.Since first podiatry appointment, I have also had a myofascial treatment with Derek. Confidence and trust is built layer by layer and mine is increasing with every visit. I visited because of a pain in my side. Derek identified this as intercostal muscle spasm, worked on that area for a bit while explaining what was wrong and what he was doing to address it. Derek also suggested an exercise that would help. I have had no recurrence so far and don't expect any. I happily recommend Clarity House and will be back but next time more for pampering than remedial!

Edit: I have indeed been back to Clarity House, but in their new location, most recently on the 19th of March. This time I went for a full leg, arm and chest wax. I was a bit nervous about booking what is, after all, a fairly intimate process and had looked at a few places before my daughter said that Clarity House did waxing. Rather than book online, I called first to check that they were ok with men's waxing. That confirmed, I made the booking, discovered that I had something else arranged for the chosen date and then used the online booking system to reschedule.
I needn't have worried, from the moment I met Laura, the therapist, she put me at ease with her matter-of-fact and professional approach. I have been impressed, on every visit, by the quality and professionalism of everyone I've met, and the service I've received. The actual waxing was almost pain-free and I'm delighted with the results. I was surprised to find that it had taken 90 minutes, the time flew by as Laura and I chatted away. I'll certainly be back (Laura reckoned in about 8 weeks) and would happily, once again, recommend Clarity House.

I was given a gift voucher for Clarity as a Christmas present from a loved one and decided to book myself in for a full body Swedish massage and my first ever luxury pedicure with Rowan. Rowan was great, made me feel at ease and I was extremely happy with my pedicure and my massage. Room was lovely, a little on the cold side for stripping off for the massage. Would have given 5 stars but the room was to the left of the main entrance and didn’t exactly give the relaxing feeling you would hope for when getting a massage. Heard customers coming and going, full conversations. During the massage they also had a delivery and the driver kept knocking at the door until someone answered. Other than this overall a good experience.

Derek is an amazing therapist. He works on the mind and body connection to decode aches and pains and straighten you out, inside and out. I would have no hesitation recommending him. I booked for a 90 minutes massage and I ended up getting Indian head massage and reflexology done. Best decision ever. I'm normally going for a full body massage, but the amount of relaxation and ease my whole body felt - unexpected.
I wish you'd add this option on the website too,as it feels so good this two techniques together. Anyhow, I'll be definitely back for more.

I have gotten waxed for many years but this place is by far the best I’ve been to, staff are so nice too and let’s be honest that goes a long way when your having to show them your intimate areas haha.
I’ve never had a hot wax before but having read reviews suggesting it’s a lot better and more comfortable I decided to try it and mhairi is a great therapist and a lovely person so would highly recommend coming here. I won’t go anywhere else now

I came to Clarity House to get a lash lift and brow lamination. I had only had my brows done here once before and couldn’t wait to come back to get them done again once restrictions were lifted. Rowan makes my brows look thicker and well shaped. The lash lift looks amazing and my 6 year old is obsessed with my lashes now. Rowan is always so lovely and friendly. Even though the treatment involved a tiny bit of waxing it is always such a relaxing experience!

I booked a back, neck and shoulder massage online me. The website was easy to use with a good description of the different services. Booking was easy, a deposit was required which I was happy to pay as I knew I was in for a treat. Although I had to wait outside, my therapist was prompt and professional, filled in a quick form, had my temperature taken and was taken straight into the room which was warm with a heated bed. The massage itself was perfect, I feel very relaxed and love the smell of the oils used. I will definitely be using Clarity again. It's a perfect treat and mini escape from 2020's lockdown.

I'm now a regular at Clarity House and I would highly recommend Fiona as a therapist. I see Fiona on a regular basis for reflexology and she is amazing!! The session itself is so relaxing but the benefits from my reflexology are incredible. Fiona is a master at pin pointing problem areas and working on them to give me relief. I have been suffering with neck and shoulder pain for about 6 weeks now. I booked in with Derek for a myofascial release massage. My temp was taken on arrival and all precautions were followed to prevent the spread of covid19.
Derek was brilliant. He noticed that actually my hips were out of alighnment and this was probably what was causing me pain.
I haven't taken co-codomol since my massage and found it has helped my pain greatly.

Always love visiting clarity. The whole experience is so relaxing as soon as you walk in the door and wait in the calming reception area. I booked this massage for my partner as a gift. The massage was very well received. The only issue I have is that I booked this online and at the time of payment, it was not made clear that the amount paid was only a deposit and a balance would need to be paid on the day. This presented an embarrassing situation as my partner had to pay the balance. I would have paid the full amount well before if I had known this. Perhaps this should be made clearer.

I had luxury Pedicure, eyebrow waxed and mostly I had a full body massage.
I’m not an easy costumer and I do zoom around to see if the place is clean, if their work is clean, customer service. And I can tell you I would give 5* to everything is important to me.
Their work is very clean and organised, very friendly, really they all are very friendly and representative.
And their prices are reasonable and worth it.

I was booked in for an intimate wax with Mhairi. This was the first time I’ve been waxed and she made me feel so at ease. Was a really quick process and made me feel very comfortable. Would highly recommend and will be using again!

Had 2 appointments this week. Hot wax is great for face. The results are so much better and long lasting. Nails on both hands and feet to a very high standard. Already had compliments from colleagues. Would recommend Rowan every time.

It’s the 2nd time I’ve been to clarity house. First time was for a sports massage and then for help with a muscular problem at the top of my back. After both treatments I felt amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a massage

Hi, on entering the Salon was met by a lovely lady who offered me a coffee as I was early for my appointment. My beautician Rowan took me to the treatment room where she made me feel like a princess. The treatment was very much a amazing feeling. I left feeling
so relaxed my skin was amazingly soft. Will hopefully be back soon for another treatment.

Visited Clarity today to have nails and brows done and Rowan could not have been nicer, took time to explain the procedures and had the knowledge to answer any questions I had. Really easy to chat to, I can be quite anxious but Rowan put me at ease straight away, will definitely be back.

I had an Indian head massage with Erin and it was fabulous. It was my first massage at Clarity and it was more than I expected. The salon is welcoming and the whole process was explained first. The massage was so good I didn’t want it to end. Easy 5 stars, would give more!

I went to Clarity house as Bowen Therapy was recommended to me . I suffer from neck pain due to whiplash and pain in my shoulder and back. Mharhi is absolutely brilliant at what she does, i no longer suffer from pain anywhere, I walk straighter and have a much better posture and more movement than i have had in years. I would definitely recommend this treatment its well worth it. Helen C

Love this salon, I always receive first class service. The atmosphere and decor is spot on, so relaxing and calm and the staff are outstanding. The online booking process is so easy to use with email appointment reminders. Special mention for Eve who is lovely and so professional, I will be back real soon.

I was very lucky to be given a voucher as a gift and booked a facial and a massage. On entering I was struck by the relaxed and beautiful surroundings.
The treatment room was to the same standard, so spacious and room to sit and discuss my treatments.
Fiona was my therapist. I had a wonderfully relaxing back, neck and shoulder massage, followed by a facial. What a fantastic experience and I will definitely be back.

Loved my visit today went for a full body massage with Derek. Staff took there time and talked me through the process and what would work well for me. Very friendly and professional would definitely recommend. Felt very refreshed and regenerated afterwards.

I would whole heartedly give Clarity House a 5star rating, because I got much more than expected. My therapist Derrick was warm, professional, knowledgeable and listened to my needs. He worked with me and made me feel totally relaxed and comfortable. I've booked my next appointment.
